Job Title: Implementation Engineer

Location: Onsite in Austin, TX 78735 (5 Days per Week)

Duration: 6 months;

Rate: $95/hr on W2

Work Experience

Overview:

seeking a senior-level Network Implementation Engineer with advanced, hands-on expertise in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), 802.1X authentication, and wireless network deployment. The individual will also need to possess strong, practical experience with routing protocols such as BGP, and be capable of implementing routing solutions in enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate is hands-on at the keyboard, experienced in the production implementation of Cisco ISE dot1x configurations, and skilled in supporting complex wired and wireless LAN environments, while also capable of deploying and troubleshooting BGP routing solutions. This position is fully onsite in Austin, TX, requiring close collaboration with technical teams and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support Cisco ISE solutions for wired and wireless network access.
• Configure and maintain 802.1X authentication, RADIUS, and TACACS+ integrations.
• Build and manage dot1x profiles for LAN ports and SSIDs, including policy and certificate configuration.
• Implement and troubleshoot BGP routing to support enterprise network connectivity.
• Configure and support Cisco Nexus switches, including vPC, VLANs, and port authentication.
• Manage and optimize wireless environments, including controllers, access points, and SSID deployments.
• Perform end-to-end troubleshooting for connectivity issues - from user authentication to DHCP and routing.
• Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure secure, high-performing network implementations.
• Document designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering with Cisco technologies.
• Deep experience with Cisco ISE (design, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting).
• Strong understanding of 802.1X, EAP, RADIUS, and TACACS+ authentication protocols.
• Solid experience implementing and troubleshooting BGP routing in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Cisco Nexus platforms and vPC.
• Hands-on experience with wireless controllers, access points, and SSID configuration.
• Familiarity with DHCP processes, Layer 2/3 fundamentals, and end-to-end network troubleshooting.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Fortinet SD-WAN is a strong plus.
• Experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) or Prime Infrastructure.
• Knowledge of network automation or scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or Cisco ISE Specialist.
