Job Description
The Gallery Administrator is responsible for the smooth operations of our non-profit gallery, supporting exhibitions and programs, and maintaining good communication with artists and curators. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, arts knowledge, and public engagement.
Work is likely 80% remote and 20% on-site in Spencertown, NY, which is near the MA/NY border.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of Gallery exhibition schedule and activities
- Handle standard, scheduled group emails to exhibiting artists
- Manage exhibit documents (loan agreements, inventory reports, artist bios, and exhibit labels)
- Attend monthly meetings (mix of on-site and Zoom)
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace/Dropbox/Adobe Acrobat)
Also desirable:
- Familiarity with gallery management tools and software
- Understanding of graphic file formats and proficiency in handling graphics files
