Data Center Technician | Hutto, TX

Join Nexeo HR as a Data Center Technician in Hutto, TX. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in computer hardware, IT assembly, electronics, or data center operations who want to grow in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. You’ll work hands-on with server builds, hardware installation, quality checks, and inventory processes while supporting a state-of-the-art logistics and technology operation.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install computer hardware, server rack components, and cabling based on schematics and diagrams
• Perform quality inspections, verifying part numbers, quantities, and component condition
• Conduct cycle counts and track spare parts, PPE, and departmental supplies using WMS tools
• Process returns and complete accurate documentation and data entry in Excel and internal systems
• Use laser measuring tools and precision instruments to align and position server racks
• Operate pallet jacks, straddle stackers, and rack movers safely and efficiently
• Follow SOPs for build procedures, documentation, and safety requirements
• Collaborate with logistics and build teams to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and quality
• Cross-train and support multiple departments as needed

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in data center operations, IT hardware assembly, electronics, or high-volume logistics
• Must pass a 10-year national background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Strong computer skills or high technical aptitude
• Hands-on experience building or repairing computers or server racks preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Familiarity with SAP, RF scanners, or WMS systems preferred
• CompTIA A+ certification is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical diagrams
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for prolonged periods
• Reliable transportation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$21.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | *Must be willing to work overtime on weekdays and Saturdays as needed.

 

Temporary Overtime Schedule (Now through December):

Due to an upcoming project, employees will be required to work extended hours for the next 3–4 weeks.

Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may extend to 6:00 PM on some days)

Saturdays: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (may extend to 4:00 PM on some Saturdays)

Normal scheduling will resume after the project concludes in mid to late-December.
