Job Description

Join a growing electrical engineering firm creating designs for renewable energy systems, battery storage, data centers, and grid modernization projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional to develop expertise in electrical power systems while working on impactful infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do  
  • Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and senior designers, you'll transform concepts into detailed electrical designs:
  • Create Electrical Drawings - Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and design details using AutoCAD
  • Site Documentation - Conduct field surveys at project sites to capture existing conditions and verify designs
  • Technical Coordination - Collaborate with engineers to ensure drawings meet specifications and standards
  • Quality Deliverables - Produce professional design documents for review and approval by licensed engineers
  • You'll gain hands-on experience with diverse electrical systems including substations, renewable energy interconnections, battery storage facilities, and medium/high voltage infrastructure.
What We're Looking For 

Required:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (demonstrated experience required)
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical data
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills for team collaboration
  • Valid driver's license and U.S. work authorization
Preferred:
  • Associate degree in drafting, design, or related field
  • Familiarity with electrical design and drafting standards
  • Experience with BIM modeling and Revit
  • Previous electrical or power systems drafting experience
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and symbols
Position Details 
  • Location: Connecticut office
  • Travel: Occasional site visits (1-2 days per month); minimal overnight stays
  • Compensation: $25-$35/hour CAD experience + electrical exposure, (entry level, no electrical exposure $18-22/hr) plus comprehensive benefits
